I’ve been blogging on and off (sometimes more off than on) at different host sites since 2003. As I continue growing in my understanding of my role as a steward of God’s glory and grace in my life, I’m hoping to see others grow as well. The goal of Shepherd Well is simple: provide information and encouragement to those who shepherd families and churches.
I’m a Christian man, husband, and father. We’re a homeschool family. We’ve been blessed with six, so that’s a lot of work that my bride does more than ably. I serve in our church, I’m also self-employed as an eBook Architect (someone who uses computer languages to make paper books into digital ones). I get pretty excited about Mexican food, the Smoky Mountains, Tennessee football, coffee, and theology.
I graduated from Beeson Divinity School with my M.Div. in 1999. I served on staff with several traditional Baptist churches and ministries for several years. After interning with Dr. Voddie Baucham at Grace family Baptist Church in Houston, TX in 2007-2008, we’re now in Knoxville, TN serving at Basswood Church alongside some of the most amazing families in all the world.
